  2. Very fresh news: It is confirmed that Zakhele Siwela and Felicien Kabanda will join CAN 2012 as assistant referees, CAF seems to be announcing the names today.

  3. Any problem for Irmatov and assistants?
I'm not watching the game, maybe I will download it.

  4. Nothing...missed one yellow, but the rest was perfect.

  5. Ravshan deserved this match. He had a great WC in South Africa and showed that he is in the elite of the world.

  6. We all agree that Irmatov deserved that match, but there are other great referees in Asia that should get a chance. About Santos-Barcelona, Irmatov was great, ARs also.

  7. 7 offsides for Barcellona, all were correct?

  8. Any news about CAF, UEFA EURO2012 and so on?
    These are crucial days...

  9. Concerning CAF, I only know that these officials will join the competition:

    REF:
    Daniel Bennett (RSA)
    Mohamed Benouza (ALG)
    Djamel Haimoudi (ALG)

    AS-REFS:
    Moffat Champiti (MWI)
    Felicien Kabanda (RWA)
    Zakhele Siwela (RSA)
    Abdelhak Etchiali (ALG)

these names are confirmed for sure!
Some others must be clear as well, like Doue, Alioum, Seechurn, Martins, Coulibaly, Diatta, Ben Naceur and so on. I wonder whether they'll take Coffi again :D

  10. by the way, I had just a thought..if we want to see Felix Brych at WC 2014 or at least on the final pre list of FIFA which is made in SEPTEMBER 2012 (!), then he cannot join EURO 2012. Because then he could not be appointed for Olympia 2012, then he would not have any FIFA tournament. Therefore I believe the decision makers have to decide. WC or EURO. What do you think?

  11. Thanks for the info

Coffi Codjia :) He is like a hero in Benin and for many african referees, i was really sad for his bad performance at CAN 2010. By the way, 2012 will be his last year and in the last times he seems to be forgotten also by FIFA.

About Brych: he will go to EURO2012, but FIFA should also call him for a tournament. Football tournament at the 2012 Summer Olympics is too close, it will start on 25 July. A hope for 2012 Club World Cup, but the important tournaments are Under 20 and Under 17. Next editions will be in 2013, and also Confederations Cup... mmhh

  12. Of course Brych will join the WC2014 pre-list. Remember that In the first list for 2010, the only spanish referee was Mejuto González, and then when the list was updated Undiano appeared.

  13. Yes, that is right, but Undiano had a u17 WC in 2007.
2 years prior to a World Cup, the final pre list is made, last time it was 22 Oct. 2008, this time it is 23 Sept 2012 (i think it is 23rd). What do we learn from that? The last chance to observe Brych in a FIFA tournament is the Olympic Games because all the other FIFA tournaments are later. Hence, it will be harder to be one of the last 38 names.
However I think and hope that FIFA also focuses on perfomances shown in UEFA competitions.

  14. Kuipers, Brych, Proenca, Velasco... All of them have not had a FIFA tournament but they will be in that list, this time the Euro will be their test, there is no other chance, I think FIFA and UEFA hopped that Undiano and Olegario joined the Euro to the others go to the Olympics, but Euro is also a good test and FIFA will have to take it like the Copa America (for Roldan as an example also when he was in that u15 Olympics) ot the Concacaf Cup for Quesada, Wijngaarde and the others. Also CAF and AFC Cup should be taken into account....

  15. I have just finished my Bundesliga statistics. It is neck and neck with the two Germans, but Brych is a bit better. I am going to publish an amount of statistics I made during the last weeks on 22 December, I can already say that it is incredible, but the two best Bundesliga officials of the first part of 2011/2012 are the two new FIFA referees, no.1 is Zwayer follwed by Fritz.
    More on Thursday.

  16. Last time pre list was published in January 2008, not in October

  18. Brych is out. That's unexpected, I don't know why. In the last performance he was better than Stark. But it could be also a signal: Stark at his last important tournament, Brych on the way to Brazil 2014. Now I think the Bavarian will be surely chose for the Olympics Games. We were talking about this "problem", just yesterday.
The other names were expected, less or more: Proença, Rizzoli, Carballo and so on. No Moen (maybe because of his too young age even though experienced) but Lannoy. And finally, no Atkinson but Webb.
Good, we have many other things to say, waiting for Niclas post.

  19. Webb and Lannoy Oh God. 2 reasons not to watch this Euro.

  20. Terrible appointments in my opinion, but please switch to the new thread.
