  1. aaaaah shit.
I had Tagliavento in my own system...but not in my predictions.

    Again Thomson in Leverkusen, strange.
We have the full Scottish team for EURO! Ross, Rose, Collum, Norris. No surprise.

  2. Blom in Braga - Besiktas.
This is a Elite referee... :)

    1. Ups..., I have seen good performances of Blom. I believe he will handle

    2. Yes I agree, the problem is that he is a Elite referee and he should get more interesting appointments. I still don't know why he is still on Elite grup.
      This is the full appointment:
      Referee Kevin Blom (NED)
Assistant referees Sander van Roekel (NED), Berry Simons (NED)
Additional assistant referees Reinold Wiedemeijer (NED), Ed Janssen (NED)
Fourth official Tom van Sichem (NED)
      UEFA Delegate Roland Ospelt (LIE)
UEFA Referee observer Rodger Gifford (WAL)

Rodger Gifford from Wales doesn't seem a so important observer.

    3. Gifford from Wales has many good referees, I would not underestimate his power. He has mostly the special cases, had often Undiano, but also sometimes Stark. That is at least no "no-name".

  3. You are totally right about Thomson.
Really strange: scottish team again in the stadium of a group stage match.
Never happened before, but let's talk about the reasons. The first guess is that UEFA has less reliable referees, after the fitness tests in Turkey, or, to say it better, maybe they wanted to reward the best performance, not looking at previous appointments.
    What do you think, Niclas?

  4. Hm I have though of an English ref or Skomina.
Leverkusen was not refereed by Webb e.g. (Chelsea were in their group), Barca only had Atkinson on MD1. But again Thomson. No idea why. Perhaps he got an excellent mark in LEV-VAL.
UEFA did the same last year in Schalke.
Schalke-Benfica. Rocchi, Faverani, Stefani; Schalke-Lyon: Rizzoli, Stefani, Faverani.

  5. take a look on Blom's ARs. That is what I said yesterday: the planned AR2 of the euro team will assist the 2nd ref of a country with the reserve AR of the euro team: van Roekel AR2 of Kuipers, Simons reserve. Zeinstra probably AR1 of EURO team.

  6. Fantastic appointment for Thompson. He has really developed into a good referee, and seems to be getting into UEFA's good books just in time for Euro 2012!!!

  7. Thomson has had some great appointments already this season. He is clearly being pushed by UEFA at the moment.

  8. Dallas will do what he is able to.
The same counts for Batta. I imagined the semifinals this year and I came to the conclusion that merely EURO refs should have them. Perhaps Lannoy has a chance this time ....

  9. I do not understand why Klasenius will not join the team. He showed better performances than Nilsson.

  10. Kassai, Eriksson and Thomson full teams for Euro2012 are now clear.
Maybe Klasenius will be the stand-by assistant referee in swedish team.
Anyway, interesting appointments. Kassai again with Arsenal after the famous Braga-Arsenal one year ago, he missed a clear and incredible penalty for Gunners.
I'm going to send my predictions for the next week, Niclas. I have to change. I will send you a mail...

  11. Zenit - Benfica

    UEFA Delegate Michał Listkiewicz (POL)
UEFA Referee observer Vaclav Krondl (CZE)

  12. Ok, do that.
I think then Stark should have Napoli Chelsea next week.
Kassai again starts his CL KO campaign in Giuseppe Meazza in round of 16. I am glad that Ring will be at EURO, I am not sure but I think he could be even the youngest AR ever at a EURO final tournament.
