    1. thanks a lot! I am wondering whether this means Nijhuis will not join EURO, or probably he has just a match himself in EL.

  8. Cakir again? It was based on Porto-City performance or UEFA had already scheduled the second appointment for him?
    Interesting.

      it was already scheduled

    2. I dont really think, it is healty to assign referees to further matches without knowledge about what will be his mark/performance for previous one. It is sth general not related to this appoitment.

    1. Thanks a lot!
But...a big ! is that they consistently leave out those who have failed the test, Gräfe would be at Aytekin's place normally. Brych not at EURO, so Olympic Games please

      Delete
  15. About italian full team: it's exactly as I imagined.
Just a thing: the fourth official (who at Euro2012 will be the stand-by additional assistant referee) should be Orsato and not Bergonzi.
I think that Orsato isn't there because he should get a match on thursday in Europa League.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Actually, Gräfe should be at Aytekin's place, too, but again, Orsato and Gräfe failed the fitness test, so I am not sure that we will see them in EL.

      Delete
    2. I keep wondering about that.
To be consistent, UEFA should keep away these referees from any appointment during all the knockout stage. It would be a really harsh measure, but needed.

  19. Rizzoli with the most easy of the four matches.

But again Cakir? I hope he won't make a mistake because being used 2 week in a row is too much.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Some appointments are forced, maybe Basel - Bayern is the easiest match this week, but take into account also that he wasn't suitable for Marseille-Inter and Napoli-Chelsea. Maybe CSKA - Real, but I think less or more we are on the same level of Basel - Bayern.
Furthermore, don't forget that we aer however talking about Champions League knockout stage matches. We can take a look at teams, yes, but every match is important.
A different speech is about second legs matches, with the score already decided, and by the way I'm so curious just about this for the next appointments.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Basel have beaten ManU, Bayern want to go into the final in their own stadium. SUI-GER duels are always special, so it is even a hotter game IMO than Marseille Inter.

  25. I think we have seen an excellent Carballo this night.
Leadership, autorithy, just 3 cards when needed and a great, great control.
A special mention for Juan Carlos Yuste Jimenez.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Totally agree. Too bad he can't whistle the CL final. I can't imagine Barcelona or Real not to be there.

      Delete
  26. Also Björn Kuipers showed a really sollid preformance at CSKA - Real. Excellent.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Velasco will get a mark with a 9 at the beginning, not sure which exactly but it was just perfect. I did not recognize a mistake and the good thing: we cannot say it was an easy match as they had important calls to make. After last night, he should get again a semifinal.
Kuipers, the free kick leading to the 1-1 can be discussed, perhaps it was no deliberate handball by Coentrao, but I am going to read Philipp's report first!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The report is on Refmarks.
In my opinion, Coentrao nearly holds the ball, so a free kick for sure, but also no second yellow.

      Delete
    2. Ok thanks!
I just watched it via livestream yesterday, so I cannot rely on the quality of the video I saw.
Good to know that Kuipers was right.

Philipp, who do you think will have Bayern-Schalke? Meyer has AUG-BER, so it should be Weiner, but I would not like it..

      Delete
    3. I had just a livestream, too...
Bayern-Schalke will be Weiner most probably, Fritz is the only alternative, but this would be a big surprise. I think, Weiner had a decent season until now, except Werder-Köln

      Delete
    4. I agree, but for Weiner it would be the 3rd match in a row, that is rare in BuLi, Aytekin had it once, ok.

      Delete
  28. Barcellona and Real are big problems for Velasco, I think we could have both teams in semifinal and not in the same match.
So I would give him immediatly a quarterfinal.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yes, depends on the quality of possible QFs, moreover we have to be aware that it is a special situation this year: no English team will presumedly reach the QF.
and 3 from Italy, hard for Rizzoli, but his time will come, perhaps in Wembley 2013.

    Velasco 91,0

Eriksson report from last week and also Velasco report are online on refmarks.

  30. what do you think of the Asian WC 2014 qualifier appts? Great chance for Kim!

    ReplyDelete
  31. El Haddad is on FIFA pre list?
He is reaching many appointments in the last times.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I hope not. And I do not think that he in pre list either, at least one of the Iranians should be preferred. Torky or Faghani, one of both.

I think we did not see the best Rizzoli yesterday, no idea why not, calls were good, but something missed. ARs very good.
