  1. Vassaras for Eriksson and Fandel for Thomson.
I think Fandel has many things to say to the scottish referee.
Niclas, sorry for my previous comments in the CL post.

    1. No problem ;) last time, it was more confusing. I can understand the passion to write directly after the appts the impressions, next time, I will have an empty post for EL Thursday morning which will be then filled later.

A German troika will observe Thomson then ;) look into the obs.-centre.

    2. Is TWENTE-SCHALKE still in your mind?
I hope not, otherwise your report about Thomson will be a bit harsh :)

Where did you find out that?
I have huge doubts about that...there were talks about foreign referees in romanian league but an official decision was not taken until now !

    5. No, I observe/consider each match isolated from others.
I am glad that they appointed Thomson, he needs to regain self-confidence.

    6. I know, it was like a joke, not a real question at all :)
      don't misunderstand me

Interesting (I totally forgot it): Thomson already had this match in 2010.

Here in Romania when a referee make a mistake it's a tragedy: discussions after discussions, accusations of corruption etc.
For this reason some teams wants foreign referees because there won't be suspicions anymore (in case of mistakes).
The real problem is: we need foreign owners, foreign presidents with other mentality. Everywhere in the world the referees make mistakes, but I didn't hear somewhere such accusations and so many suspicions like in Romania...

There were many talks lately about bringing foreign referees for some games. In the last meeting of the executive committee of FRF there was a discussion about foreign referees but majority of votes was against this proposal. For this reason I say it will be a real surprise if Mazic will be in charge.

The same story is in Serbia, believe me!
Mazic was not a referee at "EL CLASICO" (C.ZVEZDA-Partizan) for three years!

But, two games semi-finals CUP of Serbia (both the first match and the rematch – which is unprecedented in the history of Serbian football), two "eternal derbies", where the work done is by general assessments – GREAT! Journalists have characterized him as the best actor of both games.
Circulated story is that both games are the focus of UEFA.
Now, in Serbia, it is observed differently.
I think the people of the Romanian FA hired Serbian team because Mazic, Tomicic, Radojcic tried two years ago, the decisive match of Romanian CHAMPIONSHIP - GREAT. I believe that, because of the current state in Romanian Championship, he was the right choice.
Some other referees from the region were also in the game (Cakir,Vad,Strahonja).

  7. An interesting news: Rizzoli has been appointed in serie A on saturday (6 pm) for Parma-Cagliari, along with Faverani and Stefani. I think that this is a possible hint: he could be in a semifinal (Champions or Europa League next week).
The match is really meaningless, if you read the standings.
    He is probably kept safe.
I'm quite sure that with Rizzoli in a semifinal, the Champions League final will be for Proença.

until now no portuguese ref called for next week.Just some nominations for the under-Qualifications.

Artur Soares Dias called for Qatar Star League (22Apr)

    2. This is my final prediction.

Champions League semifinals: Kassai (of course) and Rizzoli. Rizzoli Barcellona and Kassai Real.

Europa League semifinals: Skomina and Moen (here it's more difficult to choose the match for each referee)

Champions League final: Pedro Proença (at any rate, with whatever team)

      Europa League final: Cuneyt Cakir

I'm sorry for Wolfgang Stark. We will see him in EURO2012.

  8. My final name for Bucuresti has changed after yesterday. Brych. Not Cakir.

    1. Niclas, and Stark? He is waiting for a final since years and years. He have never refereed the Europa League, Champions League or Super Cup one. I recognize that Brych had a superb Champions League knockout stage, but (of course, only my opinion) UEFA should look first at Stark.

      Delete
    2. I have stopped thinking in a rational way, so of course Stark should be the first option, but...everything is possible.

  11. My predictions...
Champions Semis: Rizzoli (Barca-Chelsea) and Kassai (Madrid-Bayern)
Final: Proenca (aslo wenn I would like to see Stark)

Europa League: Semis: Moen (Valencia-Atlético) Cakir (Bilbao-Sporting)
Final: Felix Brych (His performance was excellent in semis, deserved final)

I dont think if that apps are posible, sorry for Wolfgang and Damir they would have deserved something else, but they can get it on the EURO

    1. Because of the strike at the Lisbon airport, Portugal crew of referees will not be able to be on time at Frankfurt airport, from where they were to fly to Doha. Therefore, QFA decided to change appointments, so Fredy Fautrel will be in charge of Al Sadd SC - Lekhwiya SC, and Artur Manuel Ribeiro Soares Dias will whistle Al Rayyan SC - Al Jaish SC.

  18. The German commentator said that it was a clear handball penalty to Sporting before the 0-1. I do not think so.
I am not so thrilled by Thomson's performance, many small mistakes, should have sent off Féghouli with the 2nd YC. Assistant referees with a pretty mediocre performance, good offsides, but problems with throw ins and corners. Will be something around 70 I think. Report will follow later or tomorrow.

    1. You are correct. Thomson had some small problems with corners and throw-ins but we can't concentrate on such things.

      Delete
    2. Ok, then we concentrate on the 4 fouls Féghouli committed after his yellow card during 40 minutes.

      Delete
    3. OK we can do that. You are correct he should send off Féghouli.

      I will change my marks

Hand was close to body and the ball has hit the chest, before.
