  1. The third presence for Diatta, the most reliable and experienced man in this tournament. Togo needed a top referee after the mistakes in Togo-Tunisia by Bennett. Now, I think that the tournament for the Senega referee will be over, after this match.
If FIFA has looked at the performance of pre-list officials, they should immediatly consider Diatta for a call.
I know, I'm a bit fan of this referee, but at the end he showed very good performance and he deserved to officiate the final last year. What do you think?
Let's wait for semifinals, but my guess for now is that Doue and Culibaly will not get further appointments.
One sure name for semifinal is Otogo-Castane, with El Ahrach in the other match.
    Then, the final: Haimoudi.
    Third place: Bernard Camille!

    1. Mmhh, but Haimoudi is appointed for a quartefinal, so it's almost impossible to see him also for the final (that would also be his fourth appointment of the tournament).
There is something to change: El Ahrach and Otogo for the semifinals, Camille for the third place and a different name for the final. I could say Gassama. What do you think Admin? He was not at the top in his first match, but he was again appointed by CAF. I don't know how he performed in South Africa - Morocco, but if there weren't problems, he should be taken into account.
CAF seems to appreciate his style.

    2. TBH Chefren after having seen him in Tunisia - Algeria I wouldn't give him another match past the group stage. But I am not CAF.

    3. That's it - CAF seems to have found the performance better than we did, he got RSA-MAR, was overall good in a very important and tense match. So I would see him in the semifinal, same goes for Bouchaib El Ahrach.
About the final, there are two options, either Jedidi or Haimoudi. And for the third place, I would select Otogo-Castane, who was good without any doubt, but in the end, I do not see a lobby behind him which would make a semifinal appointment probable. So I prefer the Third Place Match for him.

    1. I just guess that Diatta is a candidate for the final.

    2. I think that it would be impossible, he officiated Ivory Coast - Zambia one year ago.

    3. Thank you Chefren, I missed that info. Then I will make a guess for Haimoudi. Let's see how he will do in quearters.

  4. Again an injury in Ligue 1, and again in a PSG match.

Yesterday Chapron was replaced at least for the whole second half by Desiage.

      Hi Chefren,

POLAND - ROMANIA this evening in Malaga will be officiated by Spanish Non-FIFA referee Pedro Jesús Pérez Montero.

      Kind regards from Vienna,
      Peter

    6. By the way, yes. The penalty call is borderline, it can be accepted, but harsh decision. I'm sorry because the dream of Cape Verde is over....

  6. If nothing extra-ordinary happens, Alioum should be considered as another favourite to whistle the final. Three performances which were good and promising.

If AlAhrach didn't get Semi final call surely he will whistle the final match. 100% sure .... Remember my comment.

  8. Interesting remark ;) And it also makes a lot of sense. El Ahrach was convincing in both matches, even stellar in his second one. Should have been a very high mark in ETH-NGA. If we imagine that there will be a final like Ghana - Côte d'Ivoire, I think it will be either a North or South African. Bennett made too many mistakes, so I had in mind Haimoudi and Jedidi, but why not El Ahrach, too..

  9. Haimoudi's free kick prior to the 1-1 goal was wrong.

  10. Didier Drogba: it was probably his last chance to try to win the AFCON. Incredible to see that this strong team of Ivory Coast is always out, for a reason or another reason.

@Admin: So, an irrelevant mistake, looking at the final score... good ;)

  11. According to the Eurosport commentary, Diatta missed a clear penalty. Has anybody seen the scene?

    2. Ok I have found the info: 76' complaints by Burkina Faso for a foul on NEKOULMA. I'm going to download the whole match, then I will write my opinion here later.

    3. I think that the commentary mentioned Kaboré/Adebayor.

    4. I have now watched the situation on 76': clear penalty to Burkina Faso, missed.

As i predicted before Gasama for Nigeria – Mali & Jedidi for Ghana - Burkina Faso....

So either AlAhrach or Alioum will officiate the final.

    1. I think that Bouchaib El Ahrach will referee the final.
      Alioum got already 3 appointments.
The second performance of El Ahrach was very good and it can't be rewarded with only the thierd place match... I don't know if you agree.
I see Otogo for third place now.

    2. Mohammed A.Fattah4/2/13 22:57

I agree with you Chefren. if you see my comment on this subject ....I said that if AlAhrach didn't get semifinal call.So surely he will reward the final match.

I believe he deserved after this good performance this year in CAF champions league final & This AFCON.

    3. By the way I regret that El Ahrach is not included in the pre list, so he will never join a World Cup, since he will be too old in 2018.
@ Mohammed: I will soonly answer your mail.
