FIFA has dated next gatherings of prospective 2014 World Cup match officials

Following the seminars for prospective referees and assistant referees for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil held in Zurich in September 2012, we are pleased to inform you that as part of the preparations for the World Cup, the selected match officials are now invited to  attend a second seminar. 

The seminars will be held in the confederations and are scheduled as follows:
- CONCACAF in Fort Lauderdale (USA): 4 – 7 April 2013
- CONMEBOL in Asuncion (Paraguay): 9 – 12 April 2013
- UEFA in Zurich (Home of FIFA): 16 – 19 April 2013
- AFC & OFC in Dubai (UAE): 22 – 25 April 2013
- CAF in Casablanca (Morocco): 27 – 30 April 2013
The seminars will focus on the following:
- Protecting players and the image of the game and FAIR PLAY
- Guarantee of decisional consistency and uniformity
- “Reading the game” (technical/tactical approach)
- Understanding different football mentalities (knowledge of teams)

FIFA has furthermore confirmed the updated list of the prospective match officials for the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

    There are rumours in the UK media that FIFA willcut names from the list after these seminars (i.e. UEFA to only 12 refs). Is that correct?

  2. And whot: ELITE training course takes, the last of CONFEDERATION-CUP. Jako before that 30.04-2013 CAF training ends as the last continent to be expected in the first day of may, the offical list of REFEREES who will oficate at this year's CONFEDERATION-CUP; BRAZIL-2013.
