FIFA Confederations Cup 2013: Irmatov and Nishimura are confirmed

Following reports from Asian newspapers and their transmission via Árbitro Internacional, two Asian trios have been confirmed for FIFA Confederations Cup 2013, the preparation tournament for the next World Cup, in Brazil.

Thus, Uzbekistan's Ravshan Irmatov and Japanese Yuichi Nishimura have received a nomination for the competition to be played in six different Brazil venue cities starting on 15 June. It is quite sure that their regular pre-selected assistant referees Abdukhamidullo Rasulov (Uzbekistan), Bakhadyr Kochkarov (Kyrgyzstan), Toru Sagara and Toshiyuki Nagi (both Japan) will accompany them.
According to other news in the past weeks, FIFA has chosen at least twelve trios for this tournament.

The remaining names as well as the appointments for FIFA Under-20 World Cup 2013 in Turkey are expected and will be released in due course.

    1. It's a nonsense to send Lannoy in Turkey for wc u20.
What do you want to see from a referee who is 44 years old and he already was in charge at WC 2010, EC 2012 (semifinal) and wc u17 in 2009 ?

I think in these youth tournaments should be appointed only referees <40 years old and without a final tournament in their palmares .

  2. Nice appointment for him!

  3. Japan is in group A so Nishimura will be appointed for matches in group B.
    Early prediction: Spain-Uruguay for him.
Irmatov should handle matches in group A, Mexico-Italy?

  4. Lannoy is a good appointment in my opinion. His performances of late were as if he never picked up injury.

Off topic: William Collum will handle the Scottish cup final.

  7. Terve!

    My analysis will be short.

Confederations Cup = 'sure' referees. FIFA U20 World Cup will decide who will go to FIFA World Cup.

Names like Stark or Thomson are missed, what is - of course - fully understandable.

The problem will be if Mr. Undiano Mallenco will perform well...

And there will be a huge test for Mr. Kassai and his team. Will they count another bad performance (don't wish them that, of course!)?

I think that Mr. Kassai is out from WC now. He must improve his performances as well as his assistants (every of them).

    Ystävällisin terveisin,
    Ville J.
