  1. Off topic.
Sir Alex Ferguson has announced his retirement at the end of this season. Surely a legend of the European football, Manchester United coach since 27 years.
Nevertheless, he often had difficult relationships with the referees...

  2. The other retirement that is tarnished by Sir Alex: Mark Halsey will quit refereeing at the end of the season.

    1. Although he hasn't had the best of seasons, Halsey has been a consistent performer over the years. His leniency is for me his best attribute. He tends to talk to players, rather than using his cards unlike officials such as Dean who is known as a 'card shark'. Good luck to him in the future.

  4. When will we know who UEFA appoints for the Europa League final? I really do hope It's Kuipers. A EL final coupled with his selection for the Confederations Cup will cap off a wonderful season for the Dutchman.

  6. Experienced ex-FIFA referee from Argentina, Juan Pablo Pomepei reacted in such style while sending off Gerardo Martino (away-team coach) during the match between Arsenal de Sarandi and Newell's Old Boys...

    1. Very intereasting, that should mean no Moen because Sweden and Norway are both Scandinavian countries, and of course no Skomina (last observed by Karlsson) or Eriksson.

    2. Hello "kika" - Thanks for sharing this news and being with us!
Bo Karlsson's presence in the final gives us however no hint whether it's Rizzoli or Cakir.

    3. Looks like I got my prediction right for the observer. Hopefuly the second part of my prediction will be right too and Kuipers is appointed.

    4. Sorry, of course I did not mean "Rizzoli or Cakir", but Brych or Kuipers..

    5. Do you think that Cakir is still possible?

    6. Yes, I thought to have read "ucl" ;)

    2. Concerning the incident in Argentina, Pompei should be suspended. That cannot be tolerated in any way, no matter what happened before or how the context looked like.

Regarding Kolarov's foul, it's a tough decision. Studs-up, foot-up, foot perhaps also too high. But the opponent's head was also quite low, perhaps too low. Difficult, but for me no red card here.

    3. Hm ok, the other replay is showing that the opponent's head was perhaps not too low..difficult.

    4. For me clear red card, no discussions.

  10. Nice appointment for Giahos, but to be honest, I am glad that Fandel and company have not introduced these AARs in Germany so far..

  11. AARs are actually being tested in Sweden now.

Was tested during the 2 semifinals in the Swedish cup and there will be AARs at the final aswell, after that they will evaluate it.
