Is this a foul ? he touch the ball after the referee blow the whistle and then he hit the ball again.

  3. Yes actually it's a foul. With common sense one could perhaps accept it. But in fact such technical Laws of the Game should not be bent..

  4. off topic...

Artur Soares Dias (Por) with the final of Toulon2013 Bra-Col.

Also Soares Dias is one of the refs for RegionsCup '13 in Italy.

  5. No surprise. After two matches without any card it was pretty clear that he would get the final..

    1. Is it clear to get a final if you not show a yellow card? Or is it clear to get a final if you perform well..

Why do you think that lack of yellow cards is synonymous with good performance? I don't understand it!

    2. With whom am I talking?
Where did you read that I say no cards = good performance?

    3. 'After two matches without any card it was pretty clear that he would get the final..' - isn't it the same?

Lack of yellow cards in two matches is a reason to give him a final??? Shock!

    4. No. I just constituted that for federations or tournament organizers it could be much smoother to appoint such a referee than someone who has already shown sending-offs. I never said I would like such a policy..
If you are interested: Soares did not even show no cards - he also performed well..

  6. Hi such a match for Paul Gil is a big challenge, because both teams are world class no mather category. I secretly hope that my fellow countryman, will do the trick, and get a rewerd in the FINAL, and advence to the ELITE-DEVELOPMENT.

  8. Off topic: Roger East (48), Robert Madley (27) and Craig Pawson (33/34) have all been promoted to the Select Group for the 2013/14 season. Mike Riley again promoting an official above the age of 40. Although East is closer to 50 than 40. However, Madley and Pawson do look promising.

    1. Madley to replace Dean as FIFA? If so he surely has a great career ahead of him.

    2. I wouldn't be suprised. Also, Pawson aswell. Every time I have watched these two officials they have looked competent and impressive. I just don't see what is the point of promoting East. I remember watching a game between Aston Villa and Stoke City where he had an absolute shocker! Even more he is 48!

    3. Hm, Pawson is a bit older so he doesn't really have much luck as FIFA referee. If you count the fact that you have to be under 38 to get to ED then he will only have 4 years. But Madley should be the next FIFA referee IMO.

  9. Swedes were furious with Rocchi after yesterday defeat against Austria. They talk about two penalties missed in 94'. I must admit that I watched this match, but didn't have any replays of those situations. However, they looked quite clear to be penalty... At least, I can understand those protest in media by Ibrahimovic, Granqvist and Hamren.

  12. Zhuk is hardly to referee Russia, he is from Belarus. Anyway very good performance so far.

    1. Is this a rule? Then Boyko, Tohver and Gudermanis could also not handle Russian matches.

  13. What do you think about Skomina mistake at Portugal-Russia?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Concerning Zhuk, you are totally right. I then change Mulvanny with Zhuk in the predictions. And yes, all the assistant referees are doing a very good job at this tournament.

Skomina's handball is very difficult, a separate thread on this is going to follow soon. I would have given penalty, but I do not blame him so much. I find the free kick given to Portugal more critical before the 1-0. It was nothing, Ronaldo dived and too easily got this free kick.

  15. There are problems with the filehosters. Reports are written for MD1 and will come as soon as the problems are fixed.

Marks are: 7.7 for Gautier, 8.3 for Jug and 8.3 for Bebek.

  16. What about this RC given by Gautier?

    1. Too harsh, tackling from behind, but not really dangerous.
And he missed a clear handball penaltyfor Russia three minutes before...
