Levnikov to observe Supercup Final 2013 - Eriksson the safest bet to handle the match

Right after the play-off ties of UEFA Champions League, last season's winners of UEFA Champions League - Bayern München - and UEFA Europa League - Chelsea FC - will meet in Prague to fight for the first title of the season in the UEFA Super Cup final. The match delegates have been already designated by UEFA.

30 August 2013, 20:45 CET
Eden (Prague, Czech Republic)
FC Bayern München - Chelsea FC
UEFA Referee Observer: Nikolay Levnikov (RUS)
UEFA Delegate: Elkhan Mammadov (AZE)
Blog Referee Observer: Dino (CRO)

Further information (kits):
Bayern players will wear their red home kit (goalkeeper: light green)
Chelsea players will wear their blue home kit (goalkeeper: white)
The referees will wear the black Adidas 2013 kit

Nikolay Levnikov is a member of the UEFA Referee Committee since spring 2013 and observed Cüneyt Çakır in his Champions League play-off in Eindhoven last week. Therefore he will surely not handle the final match. Based on the presumption that the Super Cup final referee will not be appointed for a Champions League play-off, there is only one official left who probably will be assigned to handle the final: Jonas Eriksson and his officiating team of Sweden.

Eriksson is the best choice Moen is young and not good.

    Hello,

The question is whether Deniz Aytekin (ED and future Elite referee) has a appointment in return play-off CL or not?

If Aytekin has no match in CL, I think that he can be 4 Official in Super Cup for Jonas Eriksson

If Aytekin has a match in CL, one of eleven aforesaid referee will have no it and will be 4 Off in Super Cup

    Greetings

    1. Aytekin cannot be fourth in Super Cup as he is German.
Either he gets Celtic-Karagandy or nothing, I would say.
Perhaps Moen would in this case take the spot as fourth official along with Eriksson in Super Cup.

Sorry, I had forgotten that Bayern played the Super Cup.
But it would be abnormal that Aytekin no recoive no match in play-off CL. Moen as 4 Off in Super Cup it is possible, we shall see

    3. The appointment for Super Cup is anyway different from CL and EL final. UEFA doesn't appoint (check the last editions) another Elite official as fourth, but they appoint a regular crew from the same country.
So a "normal" Swedish FIFA assistant referee should work as fourth.

    4. Aytekin had no match in Germany for the last two weeks. Wether he is injured or he is on vacation. In Bavaria the school holidays begin on August, 1st, so he (as a father of children) has no possibility to go on vacation during the summer break.

Ah here is maybe the good explanation.
      Thank you Hagi.
Deniz Aytekin probably asked for a vacation(notice to leave) on refereeing for August (if he is not injury) as well in Bundesliga as for the matches UEFA.
What explains why he would be the only referee of Elite, ED and First Cat. has not to receive match of play-off either in CL or in EL.

  6. Just watch what did Velasco Carballo classified as a clear tackle having free view on whole situation. Shocking and inexcusable mistake. It's beyond me!

  7. Perhaps that was not visible from Velasco's position (he should improve his positioning play to be able to create a view into such duels), AR1 could have helped (maybe).

  8. I can confirm that Eriksson is not among the Wednesday appointments which will be posted here in the course of the day. Super Cup for him and his team. Congrats.
