  2. I think the ref at Pilzen - Munchen will be from the first category. Boiko, Makkelie, Turpin, Gil, Marciniak, Mateu Lahoz; all options for me.

  3. Mateu Lahoz has a match for sure. And Velasco Carballo.

  4. Very good for Lahoz and a nice news to read for me. It's confirmed the high mark I gave in hiselast EL match (observer Trentalange).

  5. Puuuh, ultra-difficult El Clasico for Undiano Mallenco last evening...

Correct lack of penalty for me, but still very controversial situation:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajZUwyZZNGU

Second YC/RC should be issued against Sergio Ramos:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zd1pG8vt0is

Penalty for Barcelona should be given:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmYStvQf_Xs

Penalty for Real should be given, but difficult to whistle it in full pace:

Who committed a foul there; free kick or penalty:

    1. Emil Archambault27/10/13 03:13

      I agree with you on 1, 3, 4.

For me, Ramos' foul is not hard enough to deserve a yellow. Yes, it is a tackle from a tough angle, and is definitely a foul. Yet, I don't think it has enough strength to be truly 'reckless'.

As for #5: For me, the Real defender has no way to expect a Barça player jumping at him and therefore does not try to gain an advantage by extending his arms. His arms are in a natural position for a player trying to gain height. The Barça player, on the other hand, jumps towards the Real player (instead of right up) and therefore initiates the contact, committing a foul. So, free kick Real.

    2. 1) Agree, never penalty (even though I would say that Mallenco totally missed the scene, too much difficult to see the handball from his position).

      2) YC might have been given here anyway I don't see this lack of card as 100% or very blatant mistake (so I agree with Emil Archambault)

      3) Penalty missed in favor of Barcelona, for me clear,

      4) Penalty but here I can still accept Mallenco decision, because it was difficult and as always, Cristiano Ronaldo was ready to fall down.

      5) For me nothing.

      Delete
    3. 1) 100% no penalty. No controversial situation for me, the handball does not fulfill any criteria to be a deliberate one.
      2) For me no card is acceptable if we consider Undiano's whole line at this evening. But instead of calming down Barca players he should have given an immediate final warning to Ramos.
      3) Yes, clear penalty.
      4) I go with Undiano here or at least don't want to call it a clear mistake.
      5) Free kick Real, the collision is caused by Dani Alves, therefore foul.

    4. Usually referees from MD3 are not appointed for MD4. That's due to the circumstance that referees are always appointed for 2 matchdays at once (1+2 are a package, 3+4 are one and 5+6 are the other one).

      Delete
    5. But wouldn't that limit the possible appointments greatly, given that there are a lot of referees unavailable already? (u17)

      Delete
    6. Absolutely. If you go through all Elite and ED referees, you will see that de facto 38 referees are potentially available. 6 of them are at U17 WC, Gautier had EL which means he has no CL match. So 31 are remaining, for 32 matches on MD3 and MD4. Kelly and Mateu had/have a match, so one of the other Elite and ED officials will be missing. Based on MD1/2 it could be Karasev, based on observer appointments and group limitations, it might be Aytekin.

    7. I'll keep this in mind for the NEXT matchday predictions... ;-)

  12. Off topic (but not that much) :D

About Hategan. I have watched the match and I must admit that this racism problem is really a pity for him. Why? Because he showed a very good performance in a difficult match. Four important decisions to be taken. He seemed always right. If you want to watch and give your opinion, have your say. For me these situations will led to an important and high mark (of course, I repeat again, WITHOUT the racism incident).

Here the videos of the full match, everything happened in second half, so you have to watch the second video.

    http://livefootballvideo.com/fullmatch/europe/uefa-champions-league/cska-moskva-vs-manchester-city#.Um64-RBZEmo

I give the MATCH MINUTES and my view.

    1) 46:43 Correctly disallowed goal, scored by using a arm. Excellent detection. One could say that it was easy to see and blatant. Not always true. Correct YC given.

    2) 48:30 Penalty appeal by CSKA Moskva. Watching and rewatching again the scene, I can't see a contact. So, correct decision by Hategan. But a remark here. He appeared a bit hesitating. Probaly he had a doubt. For this reason, a card was not given for simulation, in my opinion it was possible.

    3) 70:08 another penalty appeal, here the referee immediately shows th HYC for dive. He looks really sure. I share this decision, even more because the player after the fall makes a clear dissent gesture against the referee.

    4) 79:00 Foul whistled and a subsequent goal is therefore annulled. Correct decision, dangerous play on Yaya Tourè. We can' even talk about a disallowed goal, for this reason I wrote "annulled". The referee showed alertness.

All in all, Hategan was really good if you ask me, in a tense and nice matrch to watch. I must be honest, having watched carefully all the game, I have missed the scene in which Yaya Tourè makes complaints to Hategan for the racist behacvior of the fans. It would be nice if someone could help me, giving detailed infos about the exact moment of this scene (probably missed by TV or during a replay?).
Thanks in advance for your answers.
    Regards.

After some very good technical decisions on the pitch it seems that Hategan has other big plus: " the referee had correctly triggered the first step of the procedure by requesting the stadium announcement. The venue director acted inappropriately, though in good faith, so causing the failure in the activation of the first step of the standard procedure, as decided by the referee."

After this info I'm preety sure we will see again Hategan in MD5 or MD6...
