  1. Interesting offside situation for Velasco:

I think, correct decision after the new rule.

    1. I agree, correct decision.

Since we're on the subject, I am not sure this goal is correct:
      http://www.mlssoccer.com/video/2014/05/10/goal-rookie-harrison-shipp-scores-despite-red-bulls-protests#ooid=5vdGl1bTpFlSGxKHAOft1EYaOUY5Axmv
To me the attacker offside attempts to challenge the goalie for the ball, and therefore interferes with an opponent. Thoughts?

    2. Ex Fifa Ref12/5/14 13:54

Of course the final decision to allow the goal is correct BUT ITS UNACCEPTABLE for the referee at the beginning to disallow the goal after the signal of his AR.Two so experienced referees created a chaos with a very bad decision which could have led to YC and maybe RC for protesting and all this was their fault. Its unacceptable in such level INMHO.
Fortunately at the end the right decision was taken,but....

To make things even worse, you can clearly hear the ref blowing his whistle right before the goal is scored. The game should have been continued with a drop-ball.

  3. German Cup Final:
    Borussia Dortmund - Bayern München:
    Referee: Florian Meyer (Ex-FIFA)
AR1: Frank Willenborg (2nd division ref)
    AR2: Christoph Bornhorst (FIFA)
4.Off: Christian Dingert (FIFA, Second Group)

Second cup final for Meyer after 2005, something that rarely happens, but with this fixture a less experienced official would have been too risky.

  6. In Spain, Barcelona - Atletico Madrid on next Saturday will decide La Liga.
Barça will be forced to win, while Atletico Madrid can be champion by a draw.
The referee in charge is Antonio Mateu Lahoz.
Another very good signal for him, after the national cup final.
He will surely join UEFA Elite after Velasco retirement.
