  1. In Bosnia-Iran, at 30': the contact (hand to the face) seems accidental to me (hence careless); what are your opinions?

    1. I can't find this scene in first half, can you write the exact match minute, please? Thanks...

    2. Very interesting situation, at first glance it seemed accidental, but watching again the replay, why the hand is just there, hitting near the eye? I don't know. We can anyway accept referee decision, I think.

    3. What bothers me especially is that the player closes his fist immediately prior to contact. Why do that? There seems to be only one answer...

  2. Carballo doing well, but with the common problems for him: very strict foul detection (almost overly so), weak use of body language, and a lack of adaptation to the temperature of the match (whistle use is always, always the same). No major controversies so far, except that the Bosnian 2:0 goal may be offside by the slightest of margins.

    1. I have not been able to see the situations so far, but some medias claim that in the Bosnia - Iran match the goal for 2-0 and 2-1 was offside?

    2. 2-0 was tight offside, really tight. 2-1 was a perfect call IMO. 4 players were offside, but not the goalscorer, and the 4 others did not interfere with any player or play. At first glance, at least. (2-0 was Juan Yuste, 2-1 Roberto Alonso).

    3. Now watched the videos.
2-0 could be an extremely tight offside by head, but if you ask me, almost impossible to detect, correct decision to allow it.
2-1 is an outstanding NO FLAG by AR1, there were four players in offside and just one onside. The ball went to the one onside, excellent decision, a very challenging situation.

    4. Agree, very tight offside at 2-0

And good no flag at 2-1

  3. Missed second YC from Rizzoli. Reckless challenge.

  4. Overall good Rizzoli with nice rapport with players, but he missed some obvious fouls. I think 8.3 would be a fair mark. Stefani with at least one mistake.

  6. I'm not in a hurry, absolutely. Your reports are always complete and precise. But I'm wondering about the following PDFs. What will be published shortly? Tomorrow Shukralla and Irmatov have another match... (Question: But this two referee's team are so fit? In particular, Irmatov was completeley sweaty in CRO-MEX).
However, thank you again for your reports!

    1. The reports will be available as soon as they are uploaded. They need 4 hours and not 30 minutes. So I ask for patience.

    2. Absolutely! I understand that a lot of situations are very difficult to understand. Sorry if I gave the impression to be in a hurry.
As regards ITA-URU, some websites write that the ball wasn't out on the corner kick which decided the match. I think this could be an interesting matter for the reporter.

  7. Doue missed a red card for a violent conduct by French Sakho (7'). Elbow used as a weapon away from the ball.

    1. There was a clear holding by the defender on Sakho in the first place.

  8. No prevention prior to a corner kick, Doue missed a violent conduct by Sakho.

  9. I am very surprised, that Noboa is allowed to play with so much blood on his head...

  10. Very interesting situation in Doue match right now. After a difficult control of the ball, a player from Ecuadro committed a clear SFP, but of course without any intention.
I really don't know how to assess such scene...

  11. VERY good red card by Doue. SFP, similar to Rodriguez. Brilliant.

    1. Indeed very good. But based on his actions and body language it was AR:s decision. TV showed AR1 talking in headset a lot just prior to the RC was issued. Can they have used video replay? Why did it take so long to show the RC?

  12. Brilliant call by Doue. I feared he would do nothing at first, but the RC is absolutely correct.
@Chefren: Had extensive time to rewatch the scenes in BIH-IRN. 2-1: four men offside, Nekounam (who gets the ballI) is not. Very good call. 2-0: extremely close, my first thought was offside, but after a rewatch it is to 95% same height.

  13. 60' HON-SUI: it is reported that Pitana missed an obvious penalty. I'm not watching the match...

    1. Not only penalty, but also a DOGSO.

    2. OMG... How's he missed that?

  14. Can anyone tell me why French players love violent conducts that much at this World Cup?

    ReplyDelete
  15. What to say about Doue... Two missed VCs (Sakho, Giroud) two mandatory YCs (A. Valencia 45'+1 and Digne 68'), good RC for SFP. Difficult.

    1. Disciplinary control can be improved, and more attention regarding violent conduct. But overall, still a OK performance, I think FIFA will be content.

    2. Thanks for your reply. :)
Hope my description of the offside situations in BIH-IRN helps. ;)

    3. Do you have the minute for the VC by Giroud?

      Delete
    4. Replay came at 87:40-87:55. By book, a violent conduct, in the reality of the game probably never a red card.

    5. Thank you. I agree on your view of the incident. It is further very difficult to estimate the force of his movement only in slow-motion.

  16. Just had a look at the Pitana penalty scene. Clear foul, penalty + RC for DOGSO. Critical error by Pitana and even more the AR.
