  1. Epic win and qualification by the team from Andorra. They won 1-0 the first leg and today with a 3-2 defeat, they won thank to away goal. The crucial goal (3-2) was scored by Andorran keeper at 94'...

    1. I'd love to see that game. Yordanov awarded 2 penalties, 1 red and 10 yellows as well.

    2. Mr Yordanov likes cards. Example:

  2. Yep. I have some sort of overview of him like most UEFA level referees, and to me he comes across as a strict disciplinarian who is lacking personality.

Or, the Carballo-type we know from La Liga. As little as I am a fan of this style, I am even less a fan of officials putting strict restrictions on the card policy of these referees, as it knocks away what they stand on. When they have to manage these matches with personality instead of cards it is a recipe for disaster and they drop to almost amateur level.

Not the best place to post this, but hope some people at least get to see it.

  3. BTW - any news on the UEFA referee categories? Any promotios or demotions? Thanks in advance.

  4. It seems as if UEFA is waiting for the final decision of three Elite officials to either retire or continue the career after the World Cup (Eriksson, Proenca, Webb).

    1. Jonas Eriksson also tinkers with the idea of retiring after the World Cup? He could qualify for the World Cup 2018, the Euro 2016, a UEFA Champions League Final etc.

    2. Too rich enough to be bothered to continue from here :P

    3. Well he once said you should stop when it is nicest and best. Let's hope he goes on. I was also wondering what might happen if Rizzoli gets the WC final. He would achieved everything except the EURO final. Would he be motivated to aspire this goal in 2016 as well? UEFA is facing a difficult generation change in the next few months / years..
