Del Cerro same day with Velasco and Borbalán?

      Delete
    3. No. Plase read carefully: Del Cerro on Saturday (11 October) with Borbalan in Finland - Greece and then in MD3 (12, 13 or 14 but one can easily guess that it is 14, in order to have a few days between thetwo matches) with Velasco.
Indeed this morning RFEF has removed Velasco and Undiano appointments....

  7. off topic:

Unusual, in Portugal there is for a trainee referee (for first category) with double nationality (Portuguese and Romanian). One sees well by the physical structure.

It is very difficult to predict international referees for A team qualification matches as the referees are chosen from all categories, it is not like UCL and mainly all 'elite'.
There are also a number of category 2 and 3 referees who have done qualification matches presently designated to UEFA u19 mini tournaments this week and next week, thus reducing the pool of available referees further. And of course a number of important observers are also designated to mini tournaments just now to look at the aspiring referees

  10. Fernández Borbalán has Finland - Greece.

  11. As happened in the previous matchday, France friendly is treated by UEFA like a qualifying match, so again AARs will be there. Marciniak has been appointed for France - Portugal in Paris.

  14. Rizzoli with a soft penalty IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Crucial mistake by AR2 disallowing the 4-0 scored by England... it was a regular goal, at first correctly allowed.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Stark with correct penalty + yellow after soft foul, but imo dogso..

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The GK was nearly in control of the ball, when the foul happened, therefore yellow is acceptable IMO.
Quite similar to Rizzoli's penalty, where you also can discuss about DOGSO (if it was a foul...)

      Delete
    2. I agree with Philipp. The likelihood of getting in control of the ball was rather low due to the goalkeeper's presence. YC is the correct choice for this reason.

  19. The 1-1 scored by Spain was a tight offside.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Eriksson missed a penalty for Turkey on 37th minute. AAR1 should have helped him.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I agree. Penalty was absolutely clear, crucial mistake also for Johannesson, he was there, can't understand how he missed that.
Some other situations I watched in first halves: correctly disallowed goal for Netherlands by Zunic, when score was still 0-0. Tight offside, surely by head, on a shot on goal, very well detected.
A penalty appeal in Lahoz match was difficult to read.
Correct penalty whistled by Boiko in favor of Belgium.
Correct and extremely difficult decision to disallowed the 3-0 scored by Norway (AR2 Jeanne).
Penalty missed by Bezborodov in favor of Bosnia, it was in the last minutes of first half.
There was a penalty appeal by Italy for a deliberate handball but I missed that.

  21. Correct 2nd YC for Rudnevs by Schörgenhofer. Reckless use of arms.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Correct RC for SFP by Jug.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Schörgenhöfer seems to be injured and is replaced. Good riot Management by Bezborovdov, four yellows are correct.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Schörgenhofer injured in Latvia - Iceland, he will be replaced by Rene Eisner, I think...

    ReplyDelete
  25. For me RC instead of YC for the Turkey #14. Ellbow clearly swung into the face.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Correct penalty by Tattou (IRL-GIB) and very good player management so far by Collum (ROM-HUN).

    ReplyDelete
  27. Great performance by Collum and his team, all crucial decisions taken correctly.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The way in which Proença managed protests by Polish players at 16th minute - amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Good performance overall by Borbalan. He had some moments of tension but no crucial decisions. He could be more strict with disciplinary control especially after Finland's goal. In my eyes expected level: 8.3

AR's not challenged with offside calls. AR2 with a good ONSIDE before Finland's goal.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Proenca was solid in my opinion. Very good player management and his typical Proenca-phlegm after each whistle. Today this had a positive effect.
The teamwork was somehow interesting. I have never seen a fourth official leaving his technical area PERMANENTLY in the game and in my opinion this should be a - in the assessment. Fourth officials should participate in the game, Team Proenca overinterpreted that for my taste.
Proenca's positioning was amateur-like. He got in the ball's away and had to sprint away losing visual contact to the ball approximately 10 times in the game and hindered it too often.
Last but not least, the 1:0 was scored after a foul on a German attacker on the other side of the field. There were a lot of seconds between the missed foul and goal, but it had a certain impact.
All in all 8.2/8.3 for me.

    1. Foul...mhn, no ball, but no foul for me really. What do you say about Lewandowski's use of arms before the 2-0? And what was the YC for Pisczek for? Dissent? Wall distance?

      Delete
    2. What about Glik's intervention at 9th minute? Penalty? Proenca chose to keep both eyes closed.

      Delete
    3. @Howard Maxi - there was some pushing between 2-3 players in the penalty area before free kick, so propably Piszczek got his YC for that.

    5. Thanks Hubert.

      1) in my opinion foul by Lewandowski prior to 2-0
      2) no penalty for handball
      3) YC for the raised leg is ok
      4) clear YC for Lewandowski, he had to stop his run, or try to avoid the contact with Neuer
      5) Excellent ONSIDE by Tiago Trigo
      6) no simulation, no penalty on Lewandowski, correct decision to play on
      7) *
      8) first foul of the match? perhaps still acceptable decision but here a YC was almost mandatory, as it was a deliberate tactical foul stopping the opponent...

      * There is a problem with Glik video, I tried to watch it many times but it doesn't work, I was able to watch a half and then the player didn't work. I tried also to download the file and the download didn't work, it seems as the file is corrupted, based on what I was able to see (the scene without replay) it should be a penalty and Glik behavior has not explanation

      Delete
    6. Thanks for opinions. I'll give you another angle of some situations 'cause Polish TV broadcasted this game from the other side (some situations are visible better in GER version, some in POL one)

      Delete
    7. Thanks, I was able to watch the missing video, perhaps it was a temporary problem. Well, I must correct myself: I think that it was a very controversial situation. The reverse camera is needed in order to have a full and correct assessment, watching this replay from behind it seems a soft touch just by hand....

    9. Thanks, it is now clear. Risky action by Glik, a penalty could have been given, I see this action as a push. Muller reaction is exaggerated, but this shouldn't influence the referee.
In Proença mind, perhaps this was not enough...

      Delete
    10. (Niclas, maybe you mean it by using the expression "Proenca-phlegm"), I noticed that Proenca focusses his view exactly on the place where the foul happened. IMO this is dangerous because he risks to not recognize some riots or unsporting behaviour next to him. I think he should more concentrate on having his focus on the players and not on the point where the ball has to be put.

      Best regards
      Phil
