  1. First EL group stage match for Lapochkin with regular AR Tikhon Kalugin as fourth official... Interesting.

  2. Interesting to see Nijhuis appointed for belgian team.

  3. Another good match for Madden from Scotland.
PSV v Estoril , Sevilla v Standard Liege and now FC Internazionale v Dnipro

He must be on course for good things?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. He was very good in Sevilla - Standard Liege, in my opinion.

      Delete
  4. Strömbergsson ... Rosetti - good sign for him, Mattias Gestranius...Peter Jones = as well. PJ is a #very# good friend of David Elleray and Gestranius has had a good season so far.

  5. two female delegates designated on duties; excellent designation for Shmeulevitz in Moscow; Blom acting as an AAR1; influential observers at Wolfsburg, Villarreal, Estoril, Zurich, Guingamp.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Eitan Shmuelevitz received match after lot of mistakes in Poland (Legia v Metalist)!?

    ReplyDelete
  7. One of Omar Rafiq or Ola Hobber Nilsen will probably be given FIFA status in Norway soon. My hope is for Rafiq...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No way! Rafiq is too old to become FIFA

      Delete
    2. Rafiq is born in 1978, so he is eligible for nomination 1 or 2 years more..

    3. What is on the agenda for ref com meeting in Zurich today ?

      Delete
    4. @Norwegianreferee. are Ola and Omar up for promotion this year (so fifa referees 2015) or next year (Fifa referees 2016)?

  8. This year or next year for them?

  9. Min. 20 in Wolfsburg: Vitienes restarted play incorrectly and was then corrected by AAR2!!! No wonder he will be removed from the FIFA List.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Two minutes later Wolfsburg goal wrongly disallowed by AR2.

    2. Angel Mozo28/11/14 00:15

      Teixeira Vitienes is one excellent
      referee.

  10. Mattias Gestranius is having a bad match. No correcet foul detections, poor cards. Especially second yellow card to Trabzonspor #6 is a joke, i believe...

    ReplyDelete
  11. Missed handball before Qarabag's goal.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Decent performance by Marciniak in Villarreal so far. Excellent generous application of the LOTG and good presence on the pitch. Suiting start to the disciplinary control in 17' and well spotted that the foul was committed just outside the box. Hope he continues to shine in the second half and in future games!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Incredible scenes at White Hart Lane. Not one, not two, but Three pitch invaders have managed to get onto the pitch. Aranovskyi has decided to take the players off.

    1. The players have just resurfaced.

    2. It looked like The 4th official was told by dellegate, after the 2nd invation, " next time you take the players off" if my lip read is right

      Delete
    3. And why wasn`t Soldado sent off for kicking the fan who invaded the field? Laws of game are clear in that part. Decisive moment.

  14. I am watching Estoril-PSV... the pitch is really bad. It looks like a swimming pool by now.

    ReplyDelete
  15. The match in Portugal has been suspended.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Tohver with two penalties, good stuff for observation by Karlsson.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Unfortunately Villarreal's second goal resulted from a clear offside position (AR1).

    ReplyDelete
  18. Eskov penalty and RC for DOGSO in favor of Guigamp was in my opinion a mistake: phantom foul. It seems that there isn't any contact.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 1st penalty by Tohver in Zurich - Apollon Limassol.

    1. mistake, no penatly

    2. I agree, no penalty. But very naive management of the ball by Apollon defenders here. It is always difficult to assess such situations involving goalkeeper, a small touch can be enough, but definitely in this case no penalty for me.

From the same channel, second penalty:

    3. oh, too thin. For me no penalty.

  20. Excellent performance by Scottish team in Inter - Dnipro:
    1) Ranocchia correctly sent off, both YC were justified.
    2) Clear penalty whistled in favor of Dnipro
    3) Good ONSIDE decision by AR2 Ross allowing 2-1
    4) Correct offside flag by AR1 Chambers disallowing a goal scored by Dnipro in 89'.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Anyone know how Jakobsson did in St. Etienne? First goal Qarabag appearantly handball. Not seen by AR2 and AAR2. Anything else?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think that Jakobsson had a good view on the scene:

  22. Really ignominious UEFA and Feyenoord yesterday
    against the supporters of Sevilla.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Two further interesting observer-appointments:

    AS Roma-Manchester City: Marc Batta
    Porto-Shakhtar: Luis Medina Cantalejo

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. And, what is very strange: Cantalejo is also observing Besiktas-Tottenham in UEL, should be a mistake..

  24. Strange situation from Piast Gliwice - Wisła Kraków match. A player overally tries to avoid a contact with the ball, but makes a hand (elbow) movement towards the ball. What would be your call?

  27. Another handball situation from Polish Ekstraklasa. The match is Korona Kielce - GKS Bełchatów refereed by Tomasz Musiał (FIFA). Clear hand movement towards the ball, but was the ball 'expected' after being bounced back from the pitch? I think that was a good feeling and call by Musiał. Your thoughts?

    Replies
    1. In both situations no deliberate handball IMO. But if public opinion is formed by such "experts" behind the microphone ...

  28. Tottenham-Everton, bad work of Oliver.
    One referee stopped.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Rather one referee who is a victim of premature appointments for big clashes and too big pressure from FA and UEFA. Too quick 'development' is never a good thing. A referee always need a time to mature.

      Delete
    2. I watched the game (obviously), and I personally thought Oliver was very good. I thought he had full control over proceedings, and all cards brandished were correct.
Firstly, lets just go on and say Oliver got the second penalty appeal absolutely right, no penalty. Subsequent replays showed Harry Kane wrap his legs round Besic. Great decision.
I have sympathy with Oliver with the first penalty appeal, you could argue Fazio's arm was in an "unnatural position", but I don't think Oliver had a clear view of the incident, considering their was a cluster of players blocking both Oliver, and his AR1. If you're not sure, don't give it. Simple as that. So I agree with Oliver. Disagree with @Anonymous, thought he was great.

  30. More news from Poland:
    1) Gil and Raczkowski for 6th matchday of EL (debut for Raczkowski);
    2) No changes on FIFA men list apart from removal of Maciej Wierzbowski (assistant; resignation from active refereeing at central level);
    3) Two changes on FIFA women list: Płaskocińska and Zając out, Ewa Augustyn and Katarzyna Lisiecka-Sęk in.

Why Wierzbowski did not get many or important appointments in the last years? Wasn't he AR in a World Cup semi-final in 2002? What happened with him after that?

      Delete
    2. Probably none of main referees indicates him as assistant. A pity because Wierzbowski was a really good assistant referee.

    3. Anonymous2/12/14 11:30
