    1. I would add Camille as a candidate. In my opinion, the best performer at this tournament.

  6. Dankert with an overally good performance spoilt a bit by his assistants (Haecker and Rohde). The first made a wrong call signaling the ball was outside the field while being played by Lewandowski. Therefore, the goal has been disallowed. Extremely difficult to spot on at the real time, but still... if you're not sure... Rohde made some minor mistakes regarding evaluation of offside.

Finally, Benatia should've been sent off for a second yellow card after a cynical, reckless foul on #23 SCH. Here the fourth official should be in alert.

Guardiola's behaviour against Haecker at disallowed goal situation and against the fourth official when the goal was scored was a bit strange. However, it was rather positive energy. I rather would not punish him for that acting. :)

Some (quite big) mistakes but still an OK performance to be honest.

    1. I agree with everything. What I would like to add is that Dankert's half-time whistle was slightly misplaced as he did not allow Schalke to execute their corner kick:
At 0:57 the ball entered the out with 1 minute of added time. Sam was about to execute it at 45+1:14...I think that this delay is quite game-typical and no time-wasting. Dankert then whistled for half-time and indicated that it took him too long. Of course he deliberately wanted to punish Sam for his slight delay when walking towards the corner flag.
      2 objections against that:
The guidelines actually say that you MAY NOT finish a half or even the game before a corner-kick which was obtained during the regular time (and added time belongs to that) has been executed. And second, no real argument, but I would have liked to see Dankert doing the same with someone like Ribery or Robben...I guess he would not have dared to do the same in such a case..

    2. Plus: Häcker at least had a good eye in the penalty situation - it was not totally easy to spot where exactly the offence had occurred.

    3. To be honest, I didn't expect Dankert will send Bayern player off for DOGSO so early, especially with so many Bayern players putting a pressure on him ;) Of course, the very good, brave call and surely nice help from Häcker.

Regarding corner kick - it was acceptable if Dankert had thought Sam wastes the time, I can agree with that. However, it would look better to simply allow that corner kick. But then if the goal was scored... I was really curious whether the corner kick will be allowed when the ball was going out the field.

But, why no minute added to the second half?!!! There were four substitutions and the result was 1-1... I never will understand it! :D

    4. Probably it was too cold :)
No indeed, 2 minutes would have been adequate in my opinion.

  7. At its extraordinary meeting held at the CAF headquarters In Bata, Equatorial Guinea on the 2nd February, 2015, the CAF Referees Committee reviewed the performance of the referee Seechurn Rajindrapasard (Mauritius) during Match No. 26, Tunisia vs. Equatorial Guinea played on 31 January 2015 in Bata in the final tournament of the 2015 Orange Africa Cup of Nations.

The Referees Committee noted with regret the poor performance of the referee during the match, including an unacceptable failure to maintain calm and ensure proper control of the players during the match.

    Hence the Referees Committee decided:
    - To end the mission of Seechurn Rajindrapasard as a referee for the Orange AFCON 2015
    - To suspend him for a period of six (6) months for poor performance
    - To delist him from the CAF “A” Elite Referees panel.

Can someone explain where is end of comedy in African cup of nations in 2013 Slim Jdidi and Daniel Benet unbelievable underperformance result was that Tarek Bouchamoui president of refrees comitee was replaced by Megdi Shemsedin now African cup of nations 2015 we had Eric Arnaud Otogo Castane and Rajindraparsad Seechurn comedy against Tunisia is it revenge to Tarek Bouchamoui. Dear friends they are shining examples of officiation to not mention any names and all their efforts are wasted in otherwise hard job of must deciding in friction of moment if African football politics does not stop to influence as it is seen in any appointment and finally football justice is properly delivered by best refrees that are seeing only colours without being instructed. Some people like to say if on highest level with cameras present can be officiated this abusive way than how officiation look like when cameras are not present.Long road to go hoping that African cup of nations 2017 will have refrees comitee made of pure professionals and not politicians that would ensure that football justice by football refrees is purely delivered on the field of play.Let good playing football be winner and purely with justice judged by best refrees whose intention is only to implement laws of the game.

    1. Eric Otogo-Castane is a great prospect for whom Russia2018 looms in the distance, I don't think you can say that either are corrupt, although Seechurn did look inept, comments like that have no place here

    1. I'm sorry for Kevin. He's a really good referee, a very hardy man. And some bad calls in even worse circumstances (last minutes of crucial SCO-CZE game, now the first minute = stronger media attention) break his career.

The first impression was a red card and a image from the position of Blom it looked definitely a red card. However, the 4th Official ( V/d Graaf; a eredivisie referee too ) should have helped him. Instead, he confirms the red card via the mic.

Players like Swerts should be banned for 3/4 matches.

    3. At first glance, I saw a red card in it. But in the replay it became clear that Willems put his leg back, enough to make it a non-excessive foul. A yellow card would have been justified IMO. But Blom is having a good season in Holland, with interesting, important and good games. And at least we have to admit, that it is a very brave decision to give a red card to PSV after 28 seconds. It's a shame that its a mistake.

  10. What do you think about this handball penalty whistled by Alioum?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I saw it only one time, but at that moment I thought it was correct, since the defender used his arm to control the ball. Correct no YC.

Alioum whistles a lot, more than what's needed in this game. Some moments he could have used advantage, some phantom fouls, and in the last 20 minutes also some moments he could have whistled but didn't. One time he went had his hands at his pocket to give a card, but decided in the end to give only a verbal warning. A good choice, but it didn't look strong. But overall a good performance IMO. 8.3-8.4 for me.

Equatorial Guinea is trying to influence Otogo-Castane, unacceptable behavior by home players. He whistled a correct penalty and now he is facing too many complaints. Equatorial Guinea want the final.

  13. I have no words for EQG. Otogo-Castane did well, his basic decisions were correct.

  14. The decision to play on for 3 instead of 8 minutes was a weird compromise. I wonder, if that is in compliance with the regulations...

    Final predictions:
COD-EQG: Sikazwe (ZAM), Ali (SUD), Godisamang (BOT), Diedhiou (SEN)
CIV-GHA: Gassama (GAM), Edibe (NGA), Ogbamariam (ERI), Coulibaly (MLI)
