    Big game for Paweł and Co.! It will be a candidate for Elite in 4-5 years, IMO.

    Btw., we have two refs named Wójcik - Jakub and Kamil. It will be Kamil with Raczkowski in Latina, Arkadiusz is his second name that is very rarely if at all in use in Poland. :)

    Big trouble in Russian FA. There are potentially 18 referees who could handle matches in Premier League, but:
    - Mikhail Vilkov and Sergey Lapochkin are suspended after bad performances in Russian Cup matches;
    - Sergey Kostevich, Timur Arslanbekov and Alexey Eskov are not allowed to referee Premier League matches for now (don't know the reason);
    - Igor Fedotov failed a fitness test;
    - Alexey Nikolaev, Kirill Levnikov, Igor Nizovtsev and Vladislav Bezborodov are injuried.

    So it stands 8 referees per 8 Premier League matches!

  4. Very interesting information, thanks !
    It's really curious the situation in Russia, can you clarify btter why some referees are not allowed to officiate premier league matches ? Can you publish appointment for the next 8 matches ?
    Why does Studer quit his carrier ? Only at internation level or even in national switzerland league ? Any comment about his perfomances ?
    Thanks

      Valentin Ivanov is head of referees in Russia. He is extremely strict. He demoted some referees last season due to bad performances and bad fitness. Now, they are not allowed to referee even in second tier. I don't know why some referees (also Eskov!) are not allowed to handle Premier League games. Three of injuried referees maybe were injuried in Antalya, Bezborodov has a muscle problem after Russian Cup game.

      This weekend's fixtures:
      Zenit - Ural: Karasev
      Terek - CSKA: Meshkov
      Rostov - Lokomotiv: Egorov
      Dinamo - Ufa: Moskalev
      Spartak - Krasnodar: Ivanov
      Kuban - Mordoviya: Matyunin
      Rubin - Arsenal: Rushakov
      Amkar - Torpedo: Kulikov

      -------

      Stephan Studer quit his both domestic and international career. He told media there are many reasons, but the main one is inability to combine job duties with the high-level refereeing.

    1. For those wondering, the referee in the English video was Neil Swarbrick.

  7. Very challenging match for Raczkowski, I watched the last minutes on Eurosport.
    A penalty and sending off for DOGSO for a clear holding by Capradossi (Roma), despite of the fact that player from City had been able to shot on goal, the decision was absolutely correct and well spotted in my opinion. I missed the previous sending off for second yellow cards...
