  1. Good appointments for Oliver and Atkinson, but why Friend and Moss as AAR's surely Pawson and Probert would be better?

    1. And a great observer, very surprisingly. What can Vassaras be observing now? Atkinson's got his final already; unless they plan to select Clatts or Atkinson for the Euro (which would be surprising)?

      Delete
    2. The next six months will be very important for Messrs Atkinson and Clattenburg; no room for error now.

Though I do believe UEFA should take both men to France...

Prediction for Referees is difficult. Many countries can provide a referee. However since Spain, Germany and France are there, we can expect a referee from England and/or Italy.

It would be a good opportunity for Oliver.

      So Taylor.

      Taylor could be an option.

I think that Oliver attended this tournament too early. Nothing followed by him.

Wouldn't it make more sense to appoint the 5th/6th officials of the teams as fourth officials, just like at EURO 2012? The predictions you do make sense to me.

      Delete
    2. I would swap Sidiropoulos with Estrada, would rather select Turpin's and/or Makkelie's AR1/2 as fourth officials in Group A and then agree, too :)

      Delete
    3. The Czech fourth officials are assistant?

      Delete
    4. Yes Márk Szántó, with additional assistant referees, you should appoint assistant referees as fourth officials.

      Delete
    5. I didn't know. But the last week Onderj Pelikan was the Assistant between Hungary and Lithuania in friendly match.

      Delete
    6. I would say
      CZE-DEN: Estrada, 4th: Efthymiadis
      GER-SER: Marciniak, 4th: Mencl
      ITA-SWE: Karasev, 4th: Pelikan
      ENG-POR: Makkelie, 4th: Cano

    2. The tackle is on/above the ankle, therefore red for SFP is surely possible, and strictly seen, the correct decision.
But then there is also common sense, nobody wanted it, it's a friendly and so on.

      Delete
    3. Yes I know about that, the typical argumentation "not in a friendly"... maybe that is also a reason why too many players get injured in nonsense friendly matches.

For me, it should be the other way around: because it is a friendly, why would you make such a dangerous tackle? The outcome of the match is not important at all, so why make these kind of fouls? Only one option: red card.

    6. Anonymous11/6/15 09:13

I really like your reasoning, Anonymous.

  11. For me yellow card is fine. Yes there is speed and it's borderline yellow / red. Leg was nog totally stretched and there were no complains at all. I know this is not a argument, but in this friendly everybody accepted it. I support this yellow. But would Makkelie have showed a red card I would support it also.

    1. But a few later Mullarkey with a wrongly disallowed goal.

      Delete
    2. And Croatia's goal? offside or not?

      Delete
    3. Regular goal, in my opinion, excellent NO FLAG by Child. Mandzukic was on level with the ball. Buffon was booked after this goal because Croatia scored when four Italian players were still protesting with AR1 Mullarkey for the previous disallowed goal. A particular situation, but of course players have their faults for that.
