  1. I don't understand, why LAT-CZE needs an Elite referee.
Big matches for the two Russians, especially for Bezborodov.

Well, I expected an Elite official for CYP-BEL. And I do support your view on the LAT-CZE appointment. I would have swapped Bezborodov with Aytekin.

I'm happy to see that Kassai is given such an important match. I hope he gets back to the top. Same thing counts also for Skomina.

Can't understand why Cyprus-Belgium doesn't get an Elite referee! Think it's a good decision to designate an Elite one for Latvia-Czech Republic.

    Goal of Italy: Hand clair.

  5. Wales - Israel (Bebek)

14' - penalty-appeal (alleged handball by ISR #16); difficult to assess, no mistake in my eyes

1-45' - very strict, authoritative approach, but also good use of personality (verbal warnings instead of harsh yellow cards); high level of fitness (as always with Bebek); good teamwork with AAR2 at the end of the first half (Bebek misses offensive foul in the box but AAR2 gives his assistance)

    8.4 performance so far

  6. Mateu Lahoz quite good so far, 1-2 missed fouls, as usual his quite special approach requiring getting used to. Overall full control and a composed personality with good body language and mostly correct and predictable decisions (interim conclusion in minute 60).

    2. Yes, in the 67th minute there was a handball by Israeli player in front of AAR1. No assistance from him. The ball was expected, defender should have avoided this slight contact. I am curious whether the mistake will be attached to Bebek too.

Also big call by AR1 in the 94th minute - offside leading to deciding goal of WAL was flagged up. Correct decision.

Bebek continued his performance basing on strong personality and authoritative approach. Quite unusual style those days.

      I like Bebek's style a lot.

      Imagine Turpin with this style..
      Top referee :)

    5. I have nothing against Turpin personally, I think he is really big talent (extremely well spoilt by UEFA) but... let's not talk about him and especially his promotion. ;)

Just to be clear, Turpin is good ref but I had an impression that he isnt that much authoritative. Great talent, of course.

  8. Turkey's 3:0 was resulting from a clear foul (blatant pulling/holding at the jersey). Mateu was ideally positioned at first glance.

Disallowed goal correct decision by AR2 in Cyprus - Belgium: offside following a deflection by defender (no deliberate play).

Good refereeing of Karasev for now (Italy-Bulgaria)! 2 correct red cards!

Also, correct penalty to Italy, but very likely a missed YC De Rossi in the early minutes (reckless challenge, 3'). He has always a very high threshold for issuing card which leads players to play roughly, that's not good in my opinion.

    2. I think that missed card for De Rossi (3') could be even a straight red for SFP. Your opinions?

  12. Weak performance by Aranovskiy. A lot of simple mistakes and no clear line.

Hazard goal is offside by the Law, but nobody seems to have wanted it disallowed

  14. Good game by Mateu Lahoz. He only missed a foul prior to the 3-0. Even though it wasn't a harsh foul, he should have whistled it IMO, it was clear holding. But it's a sad day for Dutch football...
