      Regards.

  2. No play off appointments for Mazic, he will officiate friendly Russia - Portugal on Saturday 14/11.

He will meet again Portuguese national team after 2014 WC, surely an important appointment for this reason.

  4. Decent game for Clatts, there.

Interesting to see if Atkinson gets a play-off, too.

  5. Now that we know that some ref's cannot take charge of any play-off matches, I shall change my predictions:

Sweden-Denmark: Brych (GER) (maybe also Atkinson, but could it be possible that 2 English teams appear in the first leg?)
    Bosnia-Ireland: Marciniak (POL)
    Ukraine-Slovenia: Velasco Carballo (ESP)

    Hungary-Norway: Kuipers (NED)
Denmark-Sweden: Karasev (RUS) (maybe also Skomina, although he was already observed by Hugh Dallas in City-Juve on CL MD1)
Ireland-Bosnia: Rocchi (ITA) (play-off would be deserved, although Cariolato is appointed in a friendly)
    Slovenia-Ukraine: Collum (SCO)

  11. I wont make detailed predictions but these are the names I expect for the other matches: Cakir, Rizzoli, Velasco Carballo, Eriksson and Kuipers.
The last name could be one among: Kralovec, Moen and Skomina.

    1. What about Atkinson? Otherwise I agree with your names. It seems unlikely that someone less experienced will be chosen.

  13. Very good appointment for Brych.

Interesting to see who gets tomorrow's games; specifically the Scandinavian derby.

  14. For different reasons, I don,t expect Cakir (he has refereed at least once one of the teams involved in playoff matches) and Moen (very irregular in last matches in my opinion) with a play-off match and I have doubts with Kuipers and Eriksson, especially the last one after his appointment for world clubs cup. I think also the last elite referees -Karasev, for instance- don,t have any chances either. My bet is then for very experienced referees: Rizzoli and Velasco, the most considered referees in Italy and Spain, are a safe bet in my opinion, as has been Clattenburg and Brych for England and Germany. For the other four matches my choice is Skomina, Atkinson, Undiano and Kralovec.

  23. Sutton in POL-ISL

    - Very inconsistent in the first half. Some unnecessary whistles, some missed fouls. Due to that, a rather nervous atmosphere, many protests against his decisions. The second half much better in this context.
    - Penalty to Iceland (4') was debatable but at least acceptable to me. Defender put his foot in front of attacker who was in the middle of shooting and he kicked the foot not the ball.
    - Missed mandatory yellow card to Błaszczykowski (2') for elbow used as a tool (someone may argue it was a weapon but not enough to me).
    - Very firm at some conflict moments, maybe even too active.
    - Missed two opportunities to apply an advantage.
    - Damien McGrath with three wrong/very disputable offside flags in the first half.
