Prospective List of FIFA World Cup 2018 Referees (UEFA zone)

Please find the current list of prospective match officials pre-selected by FIFA to take charge of games at World Cup 2018 in Russia. Assistant referees are included. Among others, Italy's World Cup 2014 Final Referee Nicola Rizzoli has been removed from the list - as far as we have heard, there has been some form of opposition inside FIFA against a World Cup referee who would be 47 years old in 2018.

  1. Orsato's date of birth is wrong, it is Rizzoli's one.
This should be a confirmation that Rizzoli was originally written down there.
However I have no doubts that Rocchi will be the first option and he will be called for the tournament. I expect Orsato for Euro 2020.
About the other officials, we would have two assistant referees "out of age limits" in 2018: Collin and Gringore, both 1972 born.

  2. Club World Cup: Kassai and Cáceres with semifinals, Shukralla with fifh place.
I guess Zitouni for third place (quite sure) and perhaps Garcia Orozco for the final.
