  1. On-field VAR experiment during the Wellington Phoenix FC - Beijing Enterprises Group FC.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJv_RGiFFWc

That minor and accidental tangle would have never been detected in real time. Great spot! However, we are in danger of playing without a physical contact inside the penalty area in the nearest future... There very often is some kind of infringement at set pieces inside the box, so being 'by the book' while reviewing the incidents will encourage players to dive when being slightly pulled, pushed, etc. Big point to discuss about...

    1. Good video, thanks!

I believe the GK was really influenced by that player, but it seems to not be an offence anymore under the Law 11. Correct goal for my taste.

    2. To me it is also a goal because the goalkeeper had open view and clearly didn't react to even try to save the header.

    1. 1) Goal scored about 1 minute after the end of added time, that's surely not common in Germany. Was referee right in adding 1 further minute? The behavior by GK after the goal, kicking the ball against the opponent with such a force, was in my opinion a straight RC.
2)I watched it many times and I can't understand where the contact occurred, I'm not sure about the foul as well. Difficult, for me, to make a judgment.
      3) A penalty call would be justified but in my opinion not the clearest holding.

    2. 1) There were two substitutions during the added time, then a foul happened at 5:15. So the referee was surely right in letting the free kick be executed. I would have preferred a RC, too, but no clear mistake, because the threshold for VC is very high in Germany.
      2) + 3) I agree with you. The referee can be backed in both cases, I think.

    3. 1) I would prefer a RC for such behaviour. It's clear violent conduct in my eyes, the ball is out of play.

      2) The referee has to be backed.

      3) Good call, not enough for a penalty.
