Atletico - Sevilla with 3 red cards and two penalties...

    1. - All cards shown by the referee were mandatory.
      - Most likely correctly disallowed SEV's goal due to offside by AR1 (12')
      - Correctly allowed ATL's goal, no clear dangerous play from the attacker (13')
      - correct RC for DOGSO by pulling outside the box (17')
      - correct 2nd YC for reckless foul/SPA (25')
      - the first penalty is just wrong in my opinion; it was the SEV player who kicked his opponent... crucial mistake (56')
      - a free kick to ATL and 2nd YC for SPA to SEV #2 missed (65')
      - possible another 2nd YC for SPA to SEV #4 (69')
      - the second penalty was absurd scenario (defender won the position, was in control of the ball, but decided to kick his opponent who was pressuring him from behind), but the correct decision was taken (80')

Sevilla players were not interested in playing football.

    2. You can find all refereeing situations from that game under this link:

    3. Thank you so much!
I agree with referee in 4' and 9': no penalty. 12' is a correct decision by AR. Goal scored in 13' is regular, no dangerous action / foul on keeper, after his mistake.
17': In my opinion wrong red card, it wasn't DOGSO. Player was still too far away from the goal, and there was another defender from Sevilla below. I think the latter would have had a chance for a last save, given the fact that attacker had still to run for a certain distance before having an obvious chance to score.
25': correct decision by referee there, reckless challenge, mandatory YC.
56': no penalty in my opinion, crucial mistake by referee, it is the attacker committing a foul rather than the defender.
65' - 69': in the first case (65') there is clearly a missed foul, in case of foul, I think referee would have issued the card. Strange that he played on, foul was really clear. Ball was not touched at all. The second case is borderline, a card would have been acceptable, but not a mandatory one.
80': Absurd, you used an appropriate term, this behavior by ATL player, he was in control of the ball, but then he decided to kick the opponent from behind, and of course, given the fact that he was not interested in the ball, this could be even RC for VC. However, YC still OK, because the kick was made without excessive force, it was something stupid, in order to be sure the opponent wouldn't have reached the ball. But very stupid...

  3. I'm watching PSV v Benfica and I can confirm that Radu Marian Petrescu is having a very good game at Eindhoven!! Good decision making, clear foul detection and good communication with players as well... Sells his decisions well and also very good in applying LOTG while dealing with player injuries and very clear communication with team support staff during injuries etc!! Not an overly challenging game this referee's performance has been very good till now (80')... Well done to him on an impressive showing tonight... Assistant referees have been good as well thus amounting to a proper team performance... Congratulations to the Romanian team!!

  4. Some interesting situations for Dingert in Monaco - Real Madrid:
